Solid 18K yellow gold cufflinks in an interlocking dual oval design with natural dark wood, dating from the 1970s to 1980s and made in France for men in good condition.
Description from the seller
An exceptionally rare, museum-grade vintage 1970s to 1980s Hermes high jewellery masterpiece. Crafted in solid 18K yellow gold entwined with premium natural dark wood in an interlocking dual oval ring design. A breathtakingly sophisticated gentleman's accessory reflecting the peak era of French luxury artisanship.
Provenance and Official Hallmarks
The solid gold stem is deeply and clearly stamped with the official "HERMES PARIS" signature. Alongside the signature, it features the historic French state assay hallmark of the Eagle's Head (Tête d'aigle) guaranteeing solid 18K (750) gold purity. As demonstrated in the macro photographs, it also retains the lozenge-shaped French maker's mark (poinçon de maître) and the hand-engraved vintage archive registry numbers, providing ironclad historical pedigree and absolute authenticity.
Condition and Mechanism Note
This vintage piece has been professionally serviced at a jewelry atelier to ensure perfect modern functionality. As is standard and recommended for antique functional fine jewellery, the internal folding spring mechanism has been expertly maintained and refreshed, allowing both pieces to snap and lock into position with absolute precision and satisfying crispness. This internal mechanical maintenance does not affect the external aesthetics, the original hallmarks, or the overall structural value. The entire structured rings and stems are completely guaranteed solid 18K gold.
