Information about the artist
Ada van der Schalk (1883-1957) was a Dutch artist known for her ability to elevate everyday objects through refined tactile application. This still life reflects her compositional sensibility, where the balance between simple volumes, such as the vase and the fruit, and a calm color palette defines the domestic space with elegance.
Important information for bidders
As a private seller, please read carefully some notes to ensure an ideal transaction for both.
The frame: The frame visible in the photo is included in the lot as a pure gift from me and is not part of the sale, does not determine its value, and, given its delicacy, is not insured. Consequently, any defects already present on the frame are not reported and any damage to it during transport will not be considered for claims or returns.
Shipping and customs notes: The item will be shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to European Union countries may be slightly longer than usual due to normal customs procedures. I also remind you that, since Switzerland is outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT and customs duties are entirely the buyer's responsibility and will be requested by the authorities of your country upon delivery. I advise you to inform yourself in advance to avoid surprises.
Pickup and Packaging: Alternatively to shipping, if you have the possibility, personal pickup in Geneva is always the option I prefer and strongly recommend, as it will eliminate shipping costs and ensure maximum safety for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to package it to protect the frame during transit.
