Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Based in Spain.
This graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has had a distinguished academic training, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships he carried out in Portugal and Belgium.
His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive color range, as well as a plastic, dynamic and unusual compositional style, influenced by his passion for analog photography.
The themes he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s it,” following the famous phrase of David Hockney. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always on large, expansive supports.
This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions at the national level, with a special focus on northern Spain. For more than 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is particularly recognized. Recently he won the prize at the III Motril Art Contest. 2024.
In addition to his presence in exhibitions, his works are part of multiple private collections around the world. This shows that his work is appreciated not only by the general public but also by collectors and art lovers who value his unique style and technical skill.
In short, this graduate in Fine Arts and Audiovisual Communication has developed a remarkable artistic career, focused on oil painting, acrylic, digital art, paper and watercolor. His work is characterized by a rich color range, a plastic compositional style and unusual perspectives.
