Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is an Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small town among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin work, painting, and chrome finishing.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: lockdown and the suspension of time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence becomes the means to bring to life modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as an artisan into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
