Description from the seller

Reading Afternoon

Description of the work:
This suggestive cubist-leaning piece captures the essence of a suspended moment: the peace of an afternoon devoted to reading. Through deconstructed forms and a palette of vibrant lyricism, the canvas transforms the everyday into visual poetry.
At the heart of the scene, a stylized bottle, a glass, and a cluster of grapes rest on the open pages of the press, whose texts merge with the geometry of the painting as an echo of thought. In the background, summer light filters through the slats of a green blind, connecting the interior refuge with the warmth of the outside world.
With a superb play of defined contours and chromatic contrasts, this piece not only decorates but evokes silence, reflection, and the pleasure of small daily rituals. A work with exceptional magnetism, perfect for collections seeking the force of avant-garde combined with deep poetic sensibility.

About the artist

I am a visual artist with more than 25 years of artistic career during which I have explored diverse techniques and supports, including drawing, photography, animation, and video installation. For me, painting is more than a medium of expression: it is its own language, a way to convey emotions, concepts, and perspectives through color and form. Each of my works is unique and unrepeatable, born from an intuitive and authentic artistic process.

In my most recent work I am exploring a vibrant and very personal painting, where I combine imagined landscapes, still lifes, and everyday scenes with a geometric, color-filled language. I am interested in playing with light, shapes, and perspectives to create images that move between the real and the symbolic. These works arise from the desire to build spaces that invite calm observation, discovery of details, and letting oneself be carried by the energy of color.

My work has participated in international exhibitions, biennials, and fairs such as the Havana Biennial, the Curitiba Biennial, the Mercosur Biennial, the Asunción Biennial, the Berlin Art Biennial, and fairs such as ARCO, among others. It is also part of public and private collections such as the Paraná Institute of Art, the Havana Cultura Collection, and the Benetton Collection.
