Medsan presents Kintsugi Dark Vador - Stars Wars (金継ぎのベイダー) - UNIQUE WORK, a 40 × 40 cm giclée on wood panel, signed by hand, 2026, in excellent condition, edition 1/1 from France, depicting Culture Pop with kintsugi-style gold cracks under a black background.
Description from the seller
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format work, Medsan transforms the most dreaded helmet in science fiction — that of Darth Vader — into a piece of Japanese porcelain repaired with kintsugi. The Sith lord's helm is entirely treated in porcelain painted blue, white and red with iron oxide, in the style of Arita-Imari, its cracks sublimated by fine veins of gold. On a deep black background, the evil icon becomes a precious art object. This single print bears the signature « メドサン » (Medsan).
The visual impact of the composition lies in its oil-painting treatment, with deliberate impasto: floral chrysanthemum motifs, geometric borders and enamels imitating ceramics, traversed by the network of golden craquelure typical of kintsugi — the technique that “repairs with gold” rather than concealing the fracture.
The piece’s impact comes from the depth of its symbolism: these golden lines fracture and then reunite the mask, turning every scar into a adornment. Anakin broken, become Vader, then redeemed — kintsugi, the expression of wabi-sabi, celebrates the beauty of beings marked by their trials. The great villain revealed in his repaired fragility.
A noble, pictorial and conceptual piece, ideal for bringing a refined, golden, and deeply symbolic touch to a collector’s interior — a crush for lovers of both Japanese culture and pop culture.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a genuine site of artistic production, the workshop operates both in collective creation and individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive pursuit, blending abstract art, outsider art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
