Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life sits at the crossroads of artisanal mastery. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small comune among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin work, painting, and chrome finishing.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always nourished. What for decades had been “only” an outstanding technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a language of contemporary art recognized, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
