Description from the seller
Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin work, varnishing, and chroming.
The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always cherished. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
Title - SQUEEZE LOVE
Technique: resin
Dimensions: 25x12x8 cm
Condition: new
Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed
Edition: gold 499ex
The work will be carefully packaged and shipped by courier with tracking.
In recent years his work has received important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Notably, he has appeared at the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, collaborated with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and had his works included in the renowned Fuser Private Collection. From craftsman to signature of the Neo-Pop scene, Sagrasse demonstrates how a lifetime’s experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.
Sagrasse is not merely an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has liberated the technique from functional constraints, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colored mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern.
Sagrasse’s work sits squarely in the lineage of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the connection to Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret everyday icons or pop culture in a critical light, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other international giants such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, and Richard Orlinski.
The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handcrafted work, designed and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual workmanship.
It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean only with a soft cloth, without detergents.
