“ARCHEMISIO” is a contemporary painter famous for his hyperrealist oil-on-canvas works, in which he blends photographic precision with the dramatic lighting typical of Caravaggio. Born among the streets of Rome, since a young age he has been fascinated by the Baroque masterpieces on display in the churches and museums of the city, developing a passion for the contrast between light and shadow and for the emotional intensity of the figures.
After studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, Archemisio traveled across Europe and the United States, refining hyperrealist technique through study of modern artists. However, his style is distinguished by the Caravaggesque heritage: his works capture meticulous details (from the wrinkles of the skin to reflections on an object) but are immersed in a theatrical and directional light, which sculpturally marks the volumes and creates an atmosphere rich in symbolism.
