Description from the seller
Underground palaces and famous sights come together in the "Moscow Metro" series by Larry Yust to form a spectacular portrait of the Russian capital. The photographic artist and former director combines photography with elements ofFilm: from hundreds of individual shots he assembles his compositions like camera moves. His works have been shown worldwide, including at the Louvre in Paris.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
One might think that the director, author, and photographer Larry Yust is working on a visually rich reference work, so precisely he has dedicated himself for years to depicting countless streets. And perhaps there is some truth to that: his father Walter Yust was once editor of the Encyclopædia Britannica and gave Larry the encyclopedic gene at birth.
He also owes his passion for film to his father, who gave the teenager a Super8 camera. Larry Yust was born in Philadelphia and grew up in the suburbs of New York and Chicago. He studied theater studies at Stanford University and was a two-year officer in the army. In addition, he shot for television until he could finally make his own films. "The multiple viewpoints in architectural elevations create (…) a way of looking that is more expansive than the natural one." Larry Yust
