Description from the seller
Z for Munch — The Artphabet
Edition 1/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by the digital artist Cess, where each letter of the alphabet pays homage to great figures in the history of art and contemporary visual culture.
The piece interprets the letter Z as a direct nod to Edvard Munch's visual universe and, in particular, to his most recognizable work, The Scream. The figure is integrated into the shape of the letter itself, adopting a curved and tense posture that reinforces the sensation of anguish, unease and disquiet characteristic of the Norwegian artist's imagery.
The golden face, with the mouth open and hands positioned on either side of the head, functions as the main expressive focal point of the composition. Its metallic finish contrasts with the black, soft and voluminous body, creating a sculptural, minimalist and contemporary reinterpretation of one of the most universal icons in art history.
The form of the letter Z is built through the character's own body, generating a compact and recognizable composition in which typography and figure merge into a single piece. The neutral background allows the contrast between the dark surfaces and the golden face to stand out clearly, focusing all attention on the expressiveness of the work.
Completely made in 3D (CGI), the piece has been modeled and rendered with a sculptural approach. Each element—from the curvature of the body to the modeling of the face, the hands and the finish of the materials—has been carefully worked to achieve a powerful, clean and contemporary visual presence.
The Artphabet has achieved notable international diffusion, being published in numerous media specializing in art, design and visual culture, and establishing itself as a prominent series within current digital art.
Cess is an artist specialized in digital art, CGI and artificial intelligence, with a solid track record and collaborations with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue and MTV.
The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on poly cotton canvas, guaranteeing faithful reproduction of color, volumes and nuances of the digital original.
