Description from the seller
Artist ZERMATI Jules (1880-1920) used oil colors on canvas measuring 45x58 cm for this painting. The work depicts an elderly violinist seated on a chair, while playing the violin with a serene and engaged expression. Beside him, a young woman dressed in traditional folk attire leans on the table, smiling softly and looking at the man with affection.
The painting style recalls 19th-century realism, with great attention to detail in the faces and clothing. The atmosphere is intimate and affectionate, suggesting a tender bond between the two characters, perhaps master and pupil or grandfather and granddaughter.
The frame enclosing this canvas measures 65x78 cm.
The painting was purchased from a private collector and has not been restored nor retouched at any point.
The painting will be shipped without glass for safety reasons, but it is possible to request to keep it; in this case the seller does not take responsibility for any damage caused by possible breakage during transport.
The painting will be shipped insured, with professional packing and tracked shipping.
We invite bidders to closely observe the photographs, as they are an integral part of the description; the work seen in the images will be the same that will be delivered to your home!
