Description from the seller
Colorful Still Life by Ferdinand Schirren – Mixed Technique/Pastel. Belgium (1872-1944).
This atmospheric, distinctive still life by the well-known Brabant Fauvist Ferdinand Schirren (1872–1944) is a beautiful addition to any art collection.
The work shows a harmonious composition of a bright blue fan, a draped cloth, and an elegant terracotta-like sculpture against a moody, textured background. The vivid use of color – especially the striking blue of the fan – is characteristic of Schirren's mastery of light and color.
