Yves Offret (1946–2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret devoted his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of meticulous pictorial research into landscapes, changing lights, and the atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work attracted the attention of an audience sensitive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors an intimate painting, where nature and scenes of life transform into delicate evocations, imbued with serenity.
Having passed away in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a body of work that is discreet but sincere, bearing witness to an artist's attachment to his territory and to the simple beauty of daily life.
