Description from the seller
Nicole Lubbers has been active at an international level in the contemporary art world for many years. Her work has been exhibited in cities such as New York, Prague, and this month in Colling. She has exhibited twice on Times Square and placed second at the World Art Awards. In addition, she participated in various international biennials, and her work is represented in multiple galleries spread across Europe.
With her latest collection, Nicole Lubbers is charting a distinctly new artistic path. While her international experience remains palpably present, she now consciously embraces stillness, layering, and authenticity. In her recent works, she explores the fragile beauty of memory, blur, and emotional resonance.
Working with durable oil paints, acrylics, and charcoal, she creates aesthetic compositions that feel like faded manuscripts of memory — intuitively, poetically, and raw at the same time. Her canvases balance between abstraction and recognition, between silence and motion. Each work bears traces of emotion, time, and human presence.
The works are created on stretched canvas measuring 50 x 70 cm and are intentionally presented without a frame. This preserves the purity of the artwork and gives the collector the freedom to adapt the piece entirely to their interior and experience — both with and without a frame.
For Nicole Lubbers, art is no longer only about image, but about feeling, memory, and material. Her new series forms an intimate encounter between sustainability, aesthetics, and personal expression — a rediscovery of painting and drawing in their most authentic form. This work comes with a certificate of authenticity.
