Critic’s Note:
"In this series, the artist’s lens sheds technological modernity to become a brush, giving life to a visual inquiry that transcends the instantaneous photograph. These works present themselves as a silent dialogue between the carnality of the present and the heritage of the great Northern masters.
A series that reinterprets the Flemish painting aesthetic through the photographic lens, playing with the warm light of Rembrandt and with material textures.
The author performs a skillful decomposition of chiaroscuro: light not only illuminates the nude, it literally extracts it from darkness, recalling that Rembrandt light that defines volumes with almost tactile softness. The tactile textures of the draperies serve as a counterpoint to the diaphanous fragility of the flesh, evoking 17th-century portraits."
About the artist:
Born in Switzerland in 1996, Alinghi developed an early passion for photography. He later formalized his approach by pursuing university studies in photography and was quickly recognized by his peers, winning several prizes for the quality of his work.
Alinghi defines himself as an eclectic photographer, but his work focuses mainly on two distinct domains: artistic nude photography and motorsports.
In his work on the female figure, he seeks to capture the essence of a beauty that is both wild and raw, and of a harmonious serenity. His goal is to illuminate these subtle contrasts through the development of dedicated photographic series.
Alinghi presents his work on his website and typically organizes one solo exhibition per year to share his latest creations.
"The photographer strives to explore the body in its natural environment, seeking authenticity and emotion rather than mere aesthetics." U.G.
