Description from the seller
Fractured Identity
After more than fifteen years of artistic research, Alessandro Padovan, internationally known as the Screw Art Artist, inaugurates a new phase of his creative path. His works are in private collections and proposed through galleries in several countries, where his artistic language has stood out for originality and continuous experimentation.
After making the screw the symbol of his artistic identity, Padovan today introduces a new technique based on the controlled fracturing of synthetic glass. The surface is worked to generate a network of unreproducible cracks which, instead of representing rupture, become the means through which the image is born.
In this work the portrait of a Greek sculpture takes shape, a universal symbol of beauty, harmony and perfection. The contrast between the classic subject and the expressive force of the fractures creates a dialogue between past and contemporaneity: the perfection of the sculpture is reinterpreted through a fragile material, transforming every crack into a sign of light and rebirth.
As in Screw Art, also in this new series the matter becomes the absolute protagonist. The artist does not paint the face, but lets it emerge from a process of transformation, where every fracture is unreproducible and contributes to building the work.
This new research represents the natural evolution of Alessandro Padovan's language: a path that continues to transcend the boundaries of traditional techniques, transforming industrial materials into contemporary art with a strong aesthetic and emotional impact.
The work is UNIQUE, it comes with a frame, signature and certificate of authenticity.
