Description from the seller
"BLINDED BY LOVE" from the Series
"WOMEN VOICELESS VOICES" (2026)
by Marcela Medvedikova, artist of Slovak origin
Original oil on canvas on stretchers, 55x75 cm, dated 2026, signed by the artist on the front and on the back of the canvas, with attached authenticity self-certification.
"Blinded by Love" is a pop explosion of irony and freshness. The female face with fire-red lips wears glasses made from lemon slices in place of the eyes. The acid yellow background on lime green makes the work sunny, provocative, and impossible to ignore. It speaks of love that blinds you, of lightness, of beauty that does not need to see to feel alive. Contemporary, graphic style.
- Technique: Oil on canvas on stretcher
- Dimensions: 55x75 cm
- Year: 2026
- Signature: Hand-signed on the front and back of the canvas by the artist
- Certificate: Authenticity self-certification included
- Condition: New original work, ready to hang. No frame needed.
- Shipping: Professional packaging and tracked shipping within 3 business days from purchase.
Drawn in a comic-book style, with stylized strokes and a focus on a dominant expression, these portraits lack only the classic speech bubble of the 'narrative segment' of pop art. In her presentation, Marcela Medvedikova writes: "I have not studied painting professionally: I am self-taught. Since I was little I drew flowers and objects, then moved on to pencil portraits, until discovering oil painting. Painting is a passion I discovered and cultivated slowly. On the other hand, fashion fascinated and guided me in my studies. Creating new styles of women's garments with their accessories excited me until I was twenty-seven. Later painting earned a stable place in my life, and I focused in particular on female faces to perfect my painting technique."
From 2010 to today, Marcela Medvedikova has participated in various group exhibitions at galleries and museum spaces in Capri, Naples, Cremona, and Rome. The Gallery “Machina” hosts the artist’s first solo show."
