LeYack’s 2022 hand-signed giclée on canvas, titled “Half-Mast Over Chlorine Blue - Hand-signed,” is a limited edition of 20 (40 × 40 cm) with an artist-signed certificate of authenticity, dispatched from France and ready to frame.
Description from the seller
Here, nobody. The painting is a still life of absence: the sun loungers lined up with military precision, the turquoise water of perfect stillness, the turquoise and white facade of desert modernism. Everything signals leisure—and everything is deserted. The detail that tears apart the postcard is the American flag hoisted at half-mast: a sign of mourning planted in the heart of a vacation setting, it introduces a gravity that nothing else says. The lattice screens of perforated bricks, so typical of mid-century, filter the light like geometric lace and draw the boundary between the private oasis and the desert beyond. The doors numbered 23 and 24, closed, keep their stories to themselves. The sign “MOTEL” reduced to the bare word functions as a pure sign, a promise of passage more than a promise of stay. It’s a climate-controlled paradise where, quietly, something that resembles the end of something hovers.
Characteristics of the work:
Signature: Hand-signed by the artist on the front and back of the artwork.
Technique: Giclée print on canvas, using a high-quality pigment print to faithfully reproduce details and colors.
Edition: Limited to 20 copies, individually numbered.
Dimensions: 40 x 40 cm.
Framing: Delivered ready to frame, according to your preferences.
Authenticity: Comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Shipping: Shipped from France, with secure packaging to ensure delivery in perfect condition.
About the artist:
LeYack (born in 1972) is a contemporary artist whose work blends modern narration and pictorial heritage. Drawing inspiration from photography and cinema, he distorts the codes of realism to inject palpable emotional tension. Each work tells a frozen moment, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the suggested story.
Le Yack, Atelier Joconde, motel pool, Palm Springs, flag at half-mast, green sun loungers, mid-century architecture, lattice screens, Californian desert, hyperrealism
