Yves Weiler, IMOCA (XL), oil painting, original edition, 2021, 80 × 80 cm, 2 kg, marine scene in blue, white and yellow, hand-signed, made in France, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
With IMOCA, Yves Weiler captures the intensity of a high-sea voyage, between golden light and the avalanche of deep blue. Two sailboats, carried by incandescent red sails, face a powerful and living sea. This painting references the latest Vendée Globe races, where, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, sailors found themselves after a month at sea to race together!
The material is worked with energy using knife and brush, creating a dense and vibrant relief. The deep blues and white highlights convey the force of the waves, while the sky in warm tones evokes a sunrise or sunset, a moment suspended between tension and beauty.
The composition places the viewer at the heart of the movement: almost onboard, facing the wave. One feels the wind, the swell, the commitment.
This work celebrates both freedom, the pushing beyond oneself, and the power of the elements.
Expressive, contemporary painting, ideal for a modern interior or for a lover of the marine world, of regattas, or of an adventurous spirit.
Having trained from adolescence with a professional painter, Yves went on to study at art schools, notably in Toulouse where he lives. Between 2021 and 2025, he received the Luxembourg Art Prize Artistic Merit Certificate for five consecutive years.
The canvas will be carefully packaged by the artist himself to ensure integrity during transport and shipped promptly. The certificate of authenticity will be sent after receipt of the canvas.
