Description from the seller
The word mattino derives from Latin matutinum, a term linked to the idea of what belongs to the early hours of the day. For the Romans it represented the moment when the world began to move again: markets opened, cities filled with voices, and each day seemed to offer a new possibility.
For the ancient Greeks, however, the morning also had a symbolic meaning. It was the time of Eos, goddess of the dawn, who each day crossed the sky announcing the arrival of light. It was not only the start of a new day, but the continual reminder that every end could become a new beginning.
Even in many Mediterranean traditions the morning has always been associated with important decisions. It was said that the words spoken at dawn were more sincere, because the mind was not yet burdened by the day’s distractions.
Yet there are mornings that seem to escape us.
Not because the sun has not risen, but because a part of us has stayed elsewhere.
Perhaps a "Lost Morning" is not a lost morning.
It is a morning that continues to live inside a memory.
