Description from the seller
These two gilded-bronze candelabra with a rider figure belong to that line of sculptural and theatrical pieces produced in the first half of the twentieth century, when decoration recovered historical and narrative motifs to turn them into functional objects loaded with presence. Here the candelabrum ceases to be a simple light support and becomes a small scene: a mounted rider, firm, almost ceremonial, holding the ascending structure of the five arms above him.
The rider, worked with generous volume and restrained gesture, provides the piece’s symbolic core. He is not a warrior in action, but a serene figure, almost heraldic, reminiscent of classical and academic equestrian representations. The horse, compact and well-modeled, reinforces that sense of stability and nobility. Both function as a narrative pedestal on which the luminous part rises.
The five arms unfold in a symmetrical composition, with soft curves and upper cups that evoke nineteenth-century candelabras and historicist models. The gilded bronze, with its warm, slightly aged tone, unifies the whole and accents the reliefs, making the light play on the surfaces as if it were an antique piece.
The round base, decorated with classical motifs, completes the structure with balance and solidity. Altogether, they are candelabras that combine function, narrative, and ornamentation, perfect for classic, eclectic, or contemporary spaces seeking a historical accent with character.
Certified shipping and careful packaging.
