Description from the seller
Luciano Torsi
(Arezzo, 1937 – Livorno 2024)
“Tuscany Countryside”
Oil on canvas 35x50 cm, completed in 1995.
Torsi is a painter who has managed to capture the public's attention with his paintings rich in feeling energized by colors but above all by the heart. In his paintings one senses the scent of the seasons; one is spellbound by his streams that spring forth with water and the reflections, perfectly distributed, breathe life into the subject, creating a real landscape almost forgotten by the frenetic pace of the present.
The “painter of the woods” and “of the small villages,” as Luciano Torsi has been defined, easily appealing to the generalized tastes of the public, with his landscapes, his “woods,” the streams, the flower-filled meadows full of light and color, has established himself before the public occupying in homes that corner of familiarity which now seems almost necessary and indispensable.
They have written about him: Renato Natali, Loriano Domenici, Salvatore Amodei, Bruno Damari, Mauro Barbieri, Luciano Bonetti. Many journalistic outlets have covered his painting with important reviews, starting from “La Nazione,” to “Il Telegrafo” and to “Il Tirreno.”
