Good condition of the binding, the book in its full polychrome hardcover with a beautiful engraved plate by Souze and Fils, superb first cover and spine illustrated with an allegorical scene in gold, silver, blue and black, wear from use, some minor defects on the cover, spine detached from the body, corners worn and rubbed, a few dog-eared marks and two small round ink spots at the top of the first cover, an old water stain on the second cover (top and a small one at the bottom), a bump on the top edge of the second cover, gilded edges, smooth gold-embossed spine, gilded title and author -
