About the Artist: Adarsh Sinha
ig: @adarshkumarsinha
Adarsh Sinha (born December 16, 1984) is an eminent contemporary Indian painter and visual artist whose complex, structural canvases negotiate the intersection of time, heritage, and rapid urbanization. Based in New Delhi, Sinha has carved out a unique space within the modern Indian art landscape by transforming sprawling cityscapes into densely layered architectural optical illusions.
Artistic Style and Philosophy
Sinha graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from the prestigious Delhi College of Art in 2009. His signature visual vocabulary is deeply informed by traditional architecture and regional heritage. Using fine instruments like pen and ink alongside oil on canvas, Sinha creates sweeping, crowded compositions where archaic relics and modern infrastructure overlap in vibrant, surreal geometry. His work acts as a bridge between geographies and eras. Influenced by Western art masters like Salvador Dalí, Leonardo da Vinci, and Pieter Bruegel, as well as Indian stalwarts like Ghulam Mohammed Sheikh, Sinha manipulates perspective to reflect how the past recedes or towers over modern life.
