E.H. Pushkin is an acclaimed Indian contemporary painter, sculptor, art critic, and multi-disciplinary creator based out of Kerala. Renowned for his distinct visual language that fuses environmental advocacy with deep humanitarian narratives, Pushkin uses highly contextual materials and stark geometry to echo modern societal anxieties and environmental imbalances.

Background and Education

Born in Trivandrum, Kerala, Pushkin was raised by parents who were heavily involved in India's freedom struggle against British rule. This early political and socially conscious domestic environment fundamentally shaped his philosophical trajectory as an artist.

He pursued his academic training at two of India's most prestigious art schools:

* Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA): Studied Creative Painting at the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram.
* Master of Fine Arts (MFA): Graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Fine Arts at [M.S. University, Baroda

Artistic Philosophy & Accomplishments

Co-founding the Radical Movement

During his time in Baroda in the 1980s, Pushkin became a key co-founder of the Radical Painters and Sculptors Association. This collective of young artists rebelled against the international commercialization of art, advocating instead for art that was fiercely conscious of socio-political conditions and centered on human-centric stories. Environmental Advocacy & Global Impact:

Pushkin is a pioneer in bridging artistic expression with global wildlife conservation. He spent a defining portion of his career working in Saudi Arabia as an artist for the National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD). His deep-rooted preoccupation with nature is clearly visible in landmark pieces such as Documenting an Indian Rhino and Colour of History. Furthermore, his environmental posters were selected to represent conservation awareness at major global summits under the World Conservation Congress. [1, 3, 4, 6]

The Pandemic Abstract Series

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pushkin generated a widely praised series of abstract works reflecting universal themes of extreme isolation and psychological standstills. Pieces like "A single line, drawn by an artist terribly intertwined between two exits" became emblematic of his versatile approach to manipulating ordinary tools (like paint rollers) to formulate an entirely new artistic vocabulary.

Literary Ventures

In addition to his visual canvases and granite sculptures, Pushkin is an accomplished author, poet, and critic. He has penned three books of poetry and short stories, often cross-pollinating titles between his literature and his physical art, such as his text collection The Space of Invisible Days.

Veer Hooda is an Indo-European (Austrian) contemporary artist based in Vienna, whose practice is shaped by a deep connection to his Indian roots and a great love for his now home, Europe.

Veer Hooda has exhibited across some of the top galleries and exhibitions across the world and has recently finished his sold-out show in Miami Art Basel 2025, this year (2026) 2he will be exhibiting in, among other highly esteemed exhibitions, Venice Biennale 2026, ArtExpo New York 2026, multiple exhibitions across Europe and Austria and returning to Art Basel Miami at the end of the year.  

While his own work reflects a strong conceptual and material sensibility developed through years of creative and professional experience, Hooda is equally driven by a clear mission: to make outstanding Indian artistic talent more visible and accessible within the European art market.

Signed and Authenticity: All works are hand signed by the artist and a signed Certificate of Authenticity for all works will be provided by NIV Art Center.

Packaging & Insurance: The painting will be packaged professionally and shipped rolled in a tube. The Artwork is fully insured on the way to the buyer.

Duties and import: The import duties on original artworks to most EU countries is 0%, however some countries may apply an Import VAT of 5-12% and/or clearance fees which has to be paid by the buyer before delivery, this has to be done online in most cases through the service of the delivery company. This is a fairly simple process, however, we will gladly assist if needed with anything.
