An interesting nineteenth-century edition of the famous novel “La Traviata (La Signora dalle Camelie)” by Alexandre Dumas fils, a work that inspired Giuseppe Verdi’s famous opera.
The volume was published in Milan by the publisher Luigi Cioffi in 1863, in its fourth edition.
The copy is enriched by an illustrated plate engraved in the frontispiece depicting a scene from the novel. Elegant contemporary half-leather binding with the title and gilt embellishments impressed on the spine and the covers clad in dark green cloth.
