About the artwork:
The artist's works primarily depict men, captured in their intimacy, vulnerability, or contradictions. Through them, she denounces certain masculine taboos and questions societal expectations.
The artist herself designs and cuts her stencils. She salvages old magazines to reuse their paper for collage. Each artwork is unique due to this technique. The finishing touches and details are done with oil crayons, and the background with acrylic paint. Nothing is digital.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta lives and creates today in France and Spain.
Her art is a quest for identity, deep values, deconstruction and reconstruction. Each work is an invitation to vulnerability, a plunge into her raw and sincere reality.
