Artist's Biography:
Josep Boix was born in 1928 in a small town in the province of Valencia, surrounded by orchards, fields and gardens that forever shaped his artistic outlook. From childhood he showed a special sensitivity to color and light, and he soon began to draw the flowers he saw in the courtyards of his childhood.
He trained autodidactically, although later he took lessons with local painters and visited exhibitions in Valencia, where he discovered his fascination with floral painting. His work almost always focused on bouquets, pots, roses, orange blossoms, and wildflowers, with a delicate and luminous style that sought to capture the simple beauty of nature.
During his mature years, Josep Boix exhibited in small halls of the Valencian Community and gained appreciation among collectors who valued his serene stroke and warm palette. He never sought fame, but to paint with constancy what he loved most: the quiet life of flowers and the silence of domestic interiors.
