Prestigious coffee and tea service – Paris Porcelain “Vieux Paris” – Restoration Era – 21 pieces
Description
Rare and remarkable coffee and tea service in Paris Porcelain known as “Vieux Paris,” dating from the Restoration period (circa 1820-1830).
This elegant set illustrates the finesse and refinement of the great Parisian productions of the first third of the 19th century. Made in porcelain of exceptional whiteness, it captivates with the balance of its forms, the richness of its fine gold gilt, and the timeless elegance of its decoration.
Each piece is adorned with a gold monogram, delicately inscribed at the center of a laurel wreath, a symbol of prestige, victory, and excellence. This personalization suggests an order intended for a bourgeois or aristocratic residence.
The coffee pots and teapots feature superb baluster shapes, long elegantly modeled handles, finely drawn pouring spouts, and richly gilded ovoid lid handles, characteristic of high-quality Parisian porcelains.
The interior of the cups is entirely gilded with fine gold, a luxurious finish rarely preserved on complete sets and reserved for the most prestigious services.
The set exudes remarkable elegance and represents a refined testament to the French art of living under the Restoration.
