Description from the seller
Antique Sicilian violin – Early 1900s – Restored and ready to use
We offer for sale a refined Sicilian violin dating from the early years of the 20th century, a instrument that preserves all the charm of the period’s tradition and stands out for its excellent sound qualities.
Its tone is particularly warm, powerful, and rich in harmonics, with notable sound projection that makes it ideal for advanced study as well as for concerts, chamber music, and orchestral activity. The response is ready and balanced, with an intense and enveloping sonority capable of enhancing both classical and popular repertoires.
The instrument features:
* back in lightly figured maple;
* spruce top;
* ribs in sound—but with no internal label.
In 2026 it underwent a careful maintenance and enhancement intervention carried out by a well-known Palermo luthier. The following components were replaced:
* string nut;
* pegs;
* strings;
* tailpiece;
* chinrest.
A complete refinishing of the entire instrument was also performed, with particular attention to the neck, restoring the violin to a luminous, elegant finish in perfectly preserved condition.
Today the violin shines, is perfectly functional, and immediately ready to be played, with no further work required.
The sale also includes the original period wooden case, a feature of particular historical and collectible interest. Inside are stored some original components replaced during the restoration and a period shoulder rest.
This is an instrument that combines historical value with full musical efficiency, representing an excellent opportunity for violinists, collectors, and enthusiasts who wish to own an authentic Sicilian violin from the early 20th century, restored with expertise and ready to express all the beauty of its sound.
