For sale is a large bilingual edition of Ovid’s famous Metamorphoses in Latin and French.
The translation is by Pierre Du Ryer. The work is among the most significant writings of antiquity, bringing together numerous narratives from Greek and Roman mythology that have profoundly influenced art and literature for centuries.

The edition features a total of 124 beautiful copper engravings in the text.

The pages are partly foxed and slightly browned. There are also a few small stains.
In a contemporary leather binding, it is rubbed and worn, the hinges are split and the spine is slightly cracked at the top.
