Beautiful Ferns from Original Water-color Drawings After Nature. Boston, 1892.
Text by Daniel Cady Eaton. Illustrations by C.E. Faxon & J.H. Emerton.
Unpaginated but c. 70 pages, all edges gilt, with the half-title and title page, illustrated with 10 fine chromolithograph plates.
With the simple bookplate of Henry W. Merrill (East Hiram, Maine, USA).
Original decorated cloth, rubbed and marked.
Sadly, the contents are very weak. Both the front and the rear hinges are broken, and the binding will soon become detached. Many of the inner hinges are also cracked and very weak.
VERY SCARCE
The plates and text pages are still in good condition.

My original training was in horticulture, and I have the Diploma from the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew, and I am a Fellow of the Linnean Society. We have been fortunate in acquiring many major collections from prominent botanists and naturalists over the years, and our website stock reflects this and contains many unusual and esoteric items.
