Four-volume illustrated centenary edition of Gustave Flaubert's Oeuvres Complètes, published in 1922 by Librairie de France in Paris, first edition in French, with superb half-calf leather bindings and gold tooling, interior clean, Salammbô illustrated by Alfred Lombard (copy number 760 on grand papier), La Tentation de Saint Antoine illustrated by Pierre Girieud, Voyage en Orient, and Premières Œuvres (1830s–1842).

Beautiful set of 4 volumes of Gustave Flaubert's Illustrated Complete Works, published in 1922 by Librairie de France (Paris, F. Sant'Andrea, L. Marcerou & Cie) on the occasion of the Centenary Edition.
This reference edition is highly sought after for the quality of its plates (illustrations outside the text).
Details of the volumes included:
Salammbô – Illustrated by Alfred Lombard. An exceptional specimen NUMBER 760, printed on large paper (Lafuma fil paper from Voiron), from a very carefully produced limited edition run.
The Temptation of Saint Anthony – Illustrated by Pierre Girieud.

Condition and Binding:
Binding: Superb period half-chocolate leather with raised bands. Spine adorned with gilded panels, with title and author slips in red leather. Very handsome look in a library.
General state: Spines very well preserved, gilt bright and luminous. Leather sound, with very light signs of wear on the tips and joints (see photos). Inner text clean.
