Description from the seller
Opera of 2026 created with coffee and tar on an old letter envelope, containing an old letter and an illustrated postcard, placed in a frame measuring 25x25x6 cm, with a background painted by hand.
::
(The work is part of the series BUSTE DI POESIA, which draws its name and inspiration from the homonymous collection of 52 poems by Emily Dickinson. The American poetess used to jot down verses on scraps of paper of various kinds, including especially letter envelopes, where the words dialogue with the irregularity of the support: they stretch, thicken, sometimes curve or stop as if facing a road cut off.
In this series of works, painting merges with the envelope, reducing the separation between painting and support. The void, understood as a non-painted area, becomes the message itself, seeking its strength in the uniqueness of the object and aiming to push the viewer to focus on every small detail and to reflect on how much emotional charge can be contained in such a fragile object, having survived the passage of time, bearing its marks.)

BRIEF BIO
I’ve always drawn, since I was a child. I approached painting in 2004, self-taught. In the early years I experimented with different techniques and themes. The female figure has always been present in my painterly research, even if over the years I worked on other series of works, especially urban landscapes and scenes of anonymous crowds or individuals.
In 2015 I approached old postal material as a support for my works: letter envelopes, postcards, maps, letters and manuscripts, and woman returned to be the exclusive protagonist of my painting.
For many years I have collaborated with numerous galleries, I have held solo and group shows, and I regularly participate in art fairs.
Since 2014 I have had a painting studio in Rome, in Trastevere.
In 2021, after the Covid period, I conceived Marginalia, a home-made residency project in which I was hosted in a different house in every region of Italy, creating a painting in each residence. All the material produced was then exhibited in Milan in November 2023 in a large solo show at the Fondazione Matalon.
At the beginning of 2025 I started working on “Il Caffè,” a project in progress that envisions 100 interviews with 100 different women in 100 bars/cafes in Rome and surroundings, to draw attention to the value of encounter, listening, and living consciously every moment. Each of these meetings gives rise to a full portrait of the interviewee, made of painting, words, and video.
