Description from the seller
NITRO - The Last Supper Remix - Mixed media on canvas
Mixed media techniques, acrylic painting, spray paint · Digital painting · Hand-signed · 2026
Picasso's Guernica sped up to the particle accelerator of pop culture. The dramatic composition is there, intact in its ordered chaos: the bull on the left, the screaming mother with her child, the disjointed horse in the center, the arm outstretched brandishing the lamp and the sacrificed figure engulfed by flames on the right, but the tragedy in black and white explodes under a saturated chromatic discharge: neon-yellow flat fields, electric blue and incandescent red. In the background, darkness gives way to a clash of motifs: vintage floral tapestry, 3D geometric illusions, and urban brick walls. The wounded bodies are covered with data lines and spontaneous tags (LOVE, YO!), while stars and comic-book-style tears invite themselves onto the deconstructed faces. The lightbulb eye still radiates at the top, but now illuminates a grid floor with digital accents. The artist does not renounce the original anxiety: he plugs the cubist masterpiece into the frenzied frequency of our era, where the history of art, street art, the digital age, and pop art collide on a single canvas. A fresco that makes the fury of the past resonate under the neon lights of modernity.
Technique mixte : acrylic painting, drips and spray-paint highlights on a pigment-ink print, matte varnish.
Varnish applied by hand, for deeper colors and lasting protection of the work.
Support: premium rolled canvas, professional and secure delivery.
Format: 40x90cm horizontal
Signed NITRO · Galerie Labo Joconde / Atelier Joconde · certificate of authenticity provided.
NITRO is one of the creations uniting artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop and lyrical abstraction. Under the name NITRO, the Atelier connects the greatest masterpieces of art history to the current flow of pop and urban culture: comic-book codes, graffiti, drips, textures and saturated colors. Born from the explosive energy of a Picasso and the insolence of pop art and street art, the NITRO approach detonates classical painting in a bold contemporary blaze.
NITRO revisits timeless icons, religious painting, portraiture, grand historical scenes, by making them collide with today’s visual imagination: retro video games, advertising, smileys, targets and lightning bolts. The through-line: a frontal, jubilant, and respectful clash between museum and street, where pictorial matter, dripping, and aerosol enhance and transfigure the printed image.
Each artwork is a unique piece.
