This antique mercury-backed mirror features a rich carved and gilded wooden frame with a sinuous, slender profile. The structure is characterized by a flame-form upper pediment and an ornament of curled scrolling volutes, foliate motifs, and floral rosettes in late Baroque taste. The piece dates to the first half of the 18th century, approximately.
External dimensions: 77x35x15 cm
Produced as a collectible item in good condition, with signs of aging as shown in the photo; to be examined carefully as an integral part of the description. The gilding displays a natural and captivating patina, with slight signs of time that attest to its authenticity. The mercury-backed glass is original to the piece and shows the typical oxidation and speckling of the era, which gives the piece an unmistakable historical character.
