Omega Seamaster 135.011, 34 mm gold-plated case, silver dial, manual-wind calibre 601 movement, leather band, in very good condition with minor wear.
Description from the seller
A0000005042
The watch presents itself in good overall condition, evidencing careful prior use consistent with its vintage nature. The stainless steel case characteristic of this classic Omega model remains solid, clean, and well preserved, with the iconic angular lugs of reference 135.011 clearly defined and without any structural deformations, reflecting proper maintenance over time.
Externally, there are subtle signs of wear, mainly in the form of fine surface manipulation marks (hairlines) and small normal nicks on the polished steel surfaces due to its age and daily use.
The Plexiglass crystal is in good condition, ensuring excellent visibility of the dial and free of deep cracks, showing only light superficial micro-scratches derived from normal use. The original silver-toned dial is in notably preserved condition, maintaining the sharpness of its typography and the brilliance of the applied indices, showing only a subtle and very uniform temporal patina that enhances its authenticity and vintage character.
The crown winds the movement and allows setting the hands with complete smoothness.
The screwed-down case back closes firmly and precisely. Its external face preserves the engraving of the Hippocampus with excellent relief and clarity, while its internal face is pristine, showing all the manufacturer marks and official references perfectly engraved. Inside, the manual-wind Omega in-house caliber 601 presents itself in an outstanding clean state, free of rust, humidity patinas, or brass stain, displaying the characteristic bright copper/rose gold finish of Omega movements of the era, with its components well preserved and fully operational.
The second-hand leather strap is in functional condition and aesthetically harmonizes with the timeless elegance of the piece.
Taken together, this is a watch that retains very well its aesthetic and functional qualities, notable for housing the coveted caliber 601 in an stainless steel Seamaster case with a screwed caseback, ideal for immediate use or high-end collection.
Conservation recommendations
To preserve the piece, avoid exposure to water or high-humidity environments altogether (due to its vintage characteristics, it lacks modern hermetic sealing systems). It is advised to avoid shocks or abrupt mechanical vibrations that could compromise the fine components of this caliber’s regulator. For exterior case cleaning, use exclusively a dry, soft microfiber cloth, and store the watch in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Happy bidding!
