Expressive and characteristic work by the Dutch artist and musician Herman Brood. The painting shows a powerful composition with a purple field, graffiti-like elements and a layered depiction of a face. The rough lines, spray-paint-like effects and energetic brushwork are typical of Brood’s recognizable style from the 1990s.
The work is executed in acrylic on linen and measures about 110 x 80 cm. Lower right signed and dated ‘95. The painting comes with an appraisal report from the Herman Brood Museum from 2012, which states an insured value of approximately €7,000.
The work is in good condition and is framed.
