Description from the seller
As shown in the pictures, the metal plate on the top is slightly bent and not cut straight. Since this is a found item from the street, it has been that way from the start and is thus part of the artwork.
TONA lives in Hamburg and is among the influential figures in contemporary stencil art. Active as an artist since 1999, he has consistently worked with hand-cut stencils since 2002.
His works are based on his own photographic studies conducted during travels. From these, he develops precise, multi-layered image motifs in a reduced color palette and clear formal language. At the center is a sensitive observation of human perception and everyday situations.
Characteristic are technical precision and the deliberate inclusion of transience – patina, materiality and urban change become part of the work. In addition to works in public space, TONA creates large-format murals and presents his works internationally in exhibitions and collections.
