Description from the seller
As can be seen in the pictures, the metal plate is slightly bent and also not cut straight.
Since this is a found piece from the street, it was that way from the beginning and thus part of the artwork.
TONA lives in Hamburg and counts among the formative figures of contemporary stencil art. Since 1999 active as an artist, he has been consistently working with hand-cut stencils since 2002.
His works are based on his own photographic studies created on travels. From these, he develops precise, multilayered visual motifs in a reduced color palette and clear formal language. At the center is the sensitive observation of human perception and everyday situations.
Characteristic are technical precision and the deliberate incorporation of transience—patina, materiality, and urban change become part of the work. In addition to works in public space, TONA realizes large-format murals and presents his works internationally in exhibitions and collections.
