About the work:
The artist's works primarily depict men, captured in their intimacy, vulnerability, or contradictions. Through them, she denounces certain masculine taboos and questions social expectations.
The artist creates and cuts her own stencils. She collects old magazines to use the paper for collage. Each piece is unique due to this technique. The finishes and details are done with oil crayons and the background with acrylic paint. Nothing is digital.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta currently lives and creates in France and Spain. Her art is a quest for identity, deep values, deconstruction and reconstruction. Each work invites vulnerability, a plunge into her raw and sincere reality.
