AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Acrylic on canvas.

Master Aldo Gentilini.

In good condition.

Signed on the front at the bottom, while on the back there is authentication performed directly by the artist.

Canvas size: 24 x 18 cm.

A hallmark like all of his works and unusual because of its very small size. This work by Master Aldo Gentilini also has something enigmatic about it.

It is certainly an interesting piece for someone with a small space to decorate and enliven with style. In abstract/figurative style, it comes with its original frame which is in good condition and the glass.

The images shown are an integral part of the description.

It will be packed with great care and shipped by express courier with tracking.

Aldo Gentilini was born in Genoa in 1911; from a young age he felt a strong religious vocation that led him to enter the cloistered monastery of Pietrasanta, where he stayed for three years completing philosophical studies, before dedicating himself as a self-taught artist, which would lead him to exhibit in numerous shows in Italy and abroad.

Man of faith, he believes that only through art can one reach the divine. And this thought will underpin all his work: "I try to make emptiness—Gentilini stated—This emptiness provokes in me a certain catharsis: I observe sensitive values that I respect, reevaluate them, but I never know how I will fall into the painting, and this is the realization of a truth toward a sign never thought."

He was an artist practicing asceticism, to imitate the Saint to whom he was devoted. The two natures, human and aesthetic, coincide perfectly.
