Berck - 1 Original colour drawing - Sammy Day

Stunning original illustration of Sammy Day drawn in Chinese ink and colored inks + “Bonnes Fêtes” perforation representing bullet impacts, intended for a greeting card. Signed by the artist Berck. Size: height 22.5 cm (min) to 36 cm (max), from which a fold-out section of 13.5 cm; width 10 cm. Loosely affixed to a black-colored sheet of paper and enhanced with a mat, awaiting only a nice frame for display. Sammy Day, with his partner Jack Attaway, is one of the emblematic characters of the Sammy series (a humorous parody of the Untouchables during the Prohibition era) first published in Spirou in 1970. The series proper begins in 1972 and ends in 2009. Berck was the original artist for the series up to album no. 31 (October 1994). It was then taken up by Jean Pol from album no. 32 to no. 40 in 2009.
