Description from the seller
An interesting and elegant pocket watch, in sterling silver, with a 24-hour dial, produced in England around 1909, Birmingham assay.
Working, complete with the winding key.
Despite its age, its overall state of conservation is very good.
Two-tone porcelain dial, in perfect condition, 24 hours in Arabic numerals, black part for night and white for day, mineral glass, original.
Gold hands, original. Seconds dial at 6 o'clock.
Case in sterling silver, with a finely engine-turned back. This type of watch was called a "miner’s" or "Polar".
Movement is functioning, beautiful and clean.
A highly sought-after watch in that period by railway workers, miners, navigators, people who needed to distinguish with precision the afternoon, night and morning hours.
