Title: Floral still life (1814-1870)
Painted by Fausto Antonioli, an Italian painter, born in Bergamo and lived up to 1882, renowned for his portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and vedute of Italian cities.
He began his artistic training at the Accademia Carrara there before continuing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
Antonioli traveled extensively to Rome and Florence, where he executed numerous commissions for views of major monuments and perspective drawings, while also experimenting with photography as an inspirational tool through his friendship with early photographer Augusto Gabriele Agricola.
Settling in Udine from 1850, he gained local acclaim, exhibiting works such as a view of Piazza Contarena in 1855 and producing detailed oil paintings capturing mid-19th-century urban life under Austrian rule, including patriotic undertones reflective of the Risorgimento.
