Description from the seller
in this fascinating and magnetic work, master Luigi Improta transports the viewer into a dreamlike atmosphere, dense with mystery and symbolic suggestiveness. The protagonist of the scene is a young woman with a proud and elegant profile, framed by a splendid mane of red hair gathered in long braids. Her gaze, intense and focused, is directed at a majestic cobra that she holds in her hands with surprising and natural calm, almost as if to establish a silent dialogue or a ritual of enchantment with the reptile.
In the background, immersed in a warm and enveloping half-light, emerge large antique gears clocks, elements that charge the painting with a deep allegory linked to the passage of time, eternity, and the allure of the occult. The strong contrast between the luminous complexion of the young woman, the dark dress with exposed shoulders, and the golden details of the mechanisms behind her creates a theatrical composition of great visual and decorative impact. A refined figurative painting that unites Gothic-romantic charm with extraordinary technical skill in rendering lights and shadows.
The painting, an oil on canvas measuring 40x60 cm, is in impeccable conservation conditions. The work is signed at the bottom left “L. Improta.” As further proof of authenticity and value for collectors and connoisseurs, the back of the canvas and the wooden frame (equipped with canvas-tension wedges) bear multiple stamps impressed by the artist himself bearing the inscription: "FOR AUTHENTICATION - Luigi Improta - Work executed by me," together with the archive number. A magnetic work of great character, ready to enrich and exalt the most exclusive collections.
