Description from the seller
Title: Agwé
Artist: Rubenson Provence
Series: PR007
Technique: Acrylic on linen canvas
Dimensions: 20 × 60 cm
Year: 2024
Description:
Agwé is a symbolic work inspired by the Haitian spiritual and maritime universe. Executed in acrylic on linen canvas, this vertical composition offers a reading where each form participates in a visual narrative around origin, travel and the connection between worlds.
The central element evokes the symbol of a boat, representing movement, crossing and the link between the forces of nature. The large letter A, which dominates the composition, echoes the idea of genesis, the beginning and origin. It acts as an axis linking the sky, the earth and the sea, creating continuity between the celestial and aquatic dimensions.
The upper part, bathed in deep blues and radiating motifs, suggests spiritual energy, while the lower part, animated by aquatic movements, recalls the vastness of the ocean. The spirals, dots and geometric shapes respond to each other in a personal graphic language, where every detail invites the eye to a new discovery.
The palette combines luminous blues, intense greens, golden ochres, deep blacks and bright whites, offering a rich contrast that reinforces the depth of the work. The golden touches bring light and relief, emphasizing the precious character of the composition.
Through this creation, Rubenson Provence develops a singular artistic voice, blending abstraction, symbolism and cultural heritage. Agwé does not impose a single reading: it invites each viewer to build their own interpretation around travel, birth, memory and the invisible ties between humans and the elements.
Original work, hand-signed by the artist, belonging to the PR007 series.
