Bust, Proserpina - 31 cm - Patinated bronze

Refined half-bust sculpture depicting Prosperity, the goddess of spring and queen of the underworld. Made in bronze. The goddess is portrayed with a young, melancholic face, the gaze directed downward. The hairstyle is particularly elaborate, with braids that gather the hair in a complex fashion, a style that often recalls neoclassical works such as those by Hiram Powers.
