The work depicts a reinterpretation of the myth of Icarus, expressed in a tactile high-relief style as a dramatic sculpture set within a finely fractured marble surface. The subject is shown in diagonal fall, with the body stretched downward and one wing still extended in a final, impossible attempt at resistance.
The composition captures the exact moment of imbalance: no longer ascent, but a rupture of the limit. The wings, rich in chromatic details and layered, contrast with the rigidity of the figure and the static marble, creating a very strong visual tension between freedom and consequence.
